Happening during your dancer’s regular class time!

Get your scrapbooks ready! Picture Week is one of our favorite traditions, a chance to capture your dancer’s growth, personality, and memories of costumes and classmates in a beautiful, lasting way.

Note: Picture Week is for all non-drop-in classes performing in recital. Technique classes and adult/teen drop-ins will operate as normal this week.

What to Expect

The Week Before (April 11-16):
Dancers will receive photo order forms for packages, prints, and photo merchandise. We will also have order forms available at the desk during Picture Week in case you forget!

Picture Week (April 18-24):
Photography will take place during your dancer’s regular class time. During their class, we will

  • Take a polished group photo with their class

  • Offer individual photos

  • Use remaining time for rehearsal, skill-building, and performing our routine (in costume!) for other classes

  • Your dancer’s account will be charged using the payment method on file for your order the day of photography. If you would prefer to use an alternative payment method (cash, check, Venmo, other card, etc.), pay at the front desk during your dancer’s photo session.

~ NEW GROUP PHOTO POLICY THIS YEAR! ~

Digital group photo purchase required for each dancer in group photos.

To help keep overall costs down, we now require that each dancer included in a group photo purchase the digital group image for that specific group. Everything else remains optional:

  • Individual photos, photo prints, mini-sessions, and photo gifts are still optional.

  • You can opt into some group photos and not others! The purchase requirement applies only to the group photos in which your dancer appears.

  • You do not have to participate in a group photo if you only want individual and/or specialty photos.

Is your dancer taking 5+ classes per week? We love that! And to show our appreciation, we’ve capped our group photo pricing at $115 per dancer.

Photo Options & Pricing

Group Photo (required purchase for anyone participating in group photo):

  • $25 per dancer (includes high-quality digital download). Have siblings in the same class? You’ll only be charged for one group photo.

  • Unlimited Group Photos: $115 per dancer

  • MODA Team Dancers have specialty pricing for competitive routine group photos! See Band for details.

À La Carte:

  • Individual digital photos: $15 per dancer

  • Specialty digital photos (siblings, buddies, etc.): $15 per photo

  • Prints + photo merchandise available

No discounts on individual or specialty photos.

Payment method on file is charged on day of photography. Make alternative arrangements with the front desk during your dancer’s photography session.

Photo Delivery Timeline ⏱️

We know you’ll be excited to see your dancer’s photos, and we work hard to get them to you as quickly as possible!

All printed photos & digital downloads will be available for pickup (prints & gifts) or delivered (digital) by Saturday, June 13th (recital day).

Why There’s a Photo Fee

We use professional equipment, bring in extra staff during Picture Week, and carefully edit each image to ensure a consistent, high-quality result.

No over-exposure. No cut-off limbs. No weird floating shadows or artifical backgrounds.

By handling everything in-house, we’re able to keep pricing lower than hiring a third party, while still delivering photos families love.

Each dancer receives digital download link for their photos, making it easy to print and share without limitations. You can also order prints and photo gifts through us! Participation in photo week is optional, and there are make-up class and alternate mini-session photo opportunities for those who choose to opt out.

Getting Ready for Picture Week

To make the most of your dancer’s moment:

  • Arrive on time! Photos can go by quickly and then we can use the rest of the class time to enjoy dancing in our costumes.

  • Come fully dressed in costume, including tights.

  • Hair + makeup should be done before arrival. (Instructions will come home with your costume.)

  • Bring all required dance shoes, because we will still work on our routines and skills before/after photography time.

Mini Sessions 📷

Open to all dancers and families—no recital costume needed! Perfect for:

  • Sibling & buddy photos

  • Parent-and-me moments

  • Alternative costumes

  • Headshots & more

Cost: $15 per pose (up to 3 people)

Mini sessions are booked for 5 minutes of studio time and one high-quality digital download image will be delivered to the purchasing contact.

Available Times:

  • Monday, April 20: 5:30–6:30 PM

  • Tuesday, April 21: 7:00–8:30 PM

  • Wednesday, April 22: 4:30–5:30 PM

  • Friday, April 24: Times TBD

Reservations will open for mini sessions soon! Spots are limited and must be reserved in advance. If your preferred time is not available, you will be contacted with an alternative option. Note: Walk-up mini-session appointments are subject to availability. Class photos and Mini Session reservations will be priority. If we can squeeze you in, we will!
